The AAC Team

Katie Adkinson

Social Media, Event and PR Coordinator

Katie Adkinson is a rising third-year student at the University of Virginia with an intended double major in foreign affairs and media studies, as well as a minor in French.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Katie was unable to study abroad in France last summer as planned. France’s loss was Amy Atkinson Communications’ gain. Katie is now spending a second summer helping the firm’s clients to communicate with authenticity and effectiveness with the Generation Z and Millennial target audiences.

Katie will help the AAC team create impactful social media posts, specifically utilizing her experience with Instagram and TikTok. She is also an excellent researcher and writer, and will be helping AAC’s clients with creating media/influencer lists; writing blog posts; helping plan and execute events; and drafting press releases.

Once Katie returns to the University of Virginia, she will remain with the AAC team as a part-time coordinator on special projects. During her first year at the University of Virginia, Katie was on the Hoothon corporate sponsorship committee where she contacted local businesses to help raise nearly $40,000 for the UVA Children’s Hospital. Katie is also involved with her sorority, Alpha Phi, and its philanthropy for Women’s Heart Health.

Katie may be young, but she has several years of experience with social media content, student leadership, writing and editing. She is incredibly bright and is able to offer insight into communicating effectively to the younger markets.

Katie was editor-in-chief of her yearbook for two consecutive years in high school, as well as a leader in a few student and athlete organizations. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, Advanced Placement Scholar, and received a Capstone Research Diploma.
